The Founders

Hands behind hōma atelier

Two founders dedicated to preserving the nuances that thrive in patient creativity.

Haima Haldar, co-founder of hōma atelier

Haima Haldar

An architect and a design thinker, Haima believes our craft traditions can be revitalised to belong to contemporary spaces. She loves to spend time documenting our heritage crafts and designing their relevance in modern aesthetics. With Bruno, her pet dog by her side and a cup of chai in her hand, she says, “A room should feel like a long, slow exhale. How intentionally we craft a space and what we choose to place in it influences our life experiences.”

Suresh Gummaraju, co-founder of hōma atelier

Suresh Gummaraju

Having practiced calligraphy in his early years, Suresh brings a refined sense of aesthetics to his design choices. As he puts it: “When you buy a handcrafted product, you are in touch with all the generations of artisans who made this piece possible.” His connection to these master craftspeople and their world remains deeply personal and human.
