Jamdani Moon

This Jamdani lampshade is created in Jamdani fabric using the extra-weft technique, where the scattered woven motifs resemble moons suspended in a field of handwoven cotton. While the "Weave" honours the craft , yet the application of the craft is to light up contemporary, minimal spaces. It feels timeless, understated, and consistent with Hōma's philosophy of celebrating handcraft and quiet living. The generous negative space gives every woven dot room to breathe. When the lamp is lit, the motifs seem to lift gently from the surface. Light passes through the fine cotton while the extra weft catches and diffuses it, creating the illusion of floating points of light across the shade. What appears simple in daylight becomes quietly magical at dusk.
